Printing DjVu Documents

In previous versions of the DjVu Browser Plug-in, printing was possible only through the DjVu Browser Plug-in’s print functionality as described below. With the DjVu Browser Plug-in version 6.1 Windows users can also print from the familiar Internet Explorer Print button or from the Print option on the File menu.

NOTE: Saving, exporting, copying and printing are functions normally available for documents viewed with the DjVu Browser Plug-in. However, you may notice that either the File options or the Selection options, or both, are missing from the context menu. In this case you are viewing DjVu documents whose creators have included restrictions on these functions for reasons of copyright or security.

To print a DjVu document with the DjVu Browser Plug-in’s print functionality:

1. From the context menu, choose File, then Print…. Alternatively, click the Print button     on the DjVu toolbar. The Print dialog box appears, as shown below.
2. Make selections and click OK.

Print Options

You can specify which part of the current document you want to print:

• All – All the pages in the document
• PageRanges – Any contiguous range of pages
• Selection – Only the region of the current page that is selected using the context menu (see "Printing a Selection" below)

Similarly, you can specify a particular zoom level at which to print on the Page Scaling drop-down menu, as shown above:

• Fit to Page – Enlarge or reduce the image until it just fits the page on which you are printing
• Original Size – The printed image is the same size as the original
• Current Zoom – The image prints using the same zoom factor you have selected in the plug-in.

The Range Subset drop-down menu enables you to select only the odd or even pages, or all pages. This is useful for double-sided printing.

If you would like the DjVu Browser Plug-in to automatically rotate pages for best fit before printing, select the Auto Rotate checkbox.

Printing a Selection

To print a selection:

1. Choose Select from the context menu, then Select region. The cursor changes to a set of cross-hatches.
2. Drag cursor to create a rectangle representing the region you wish to print.
3. Access the Print dialog as above. The Selection radio button becomes available.
4. Select the Selection radio button and click OK.
